Budget blackout and winter power-outage prep for seniors and rural homes

Audience

Older and rural homeowners, including seniors living alone, plus budget-minded beginner preppers who want low-cost ways to stay warm, fed and safe in a power outage (inferred from titles, keywords and the about text; no audience statistics).

Avatar

• Realistic avatar
• A photorealistic older man with swept-back white hair and a short white beard, in a tan canvas vest over a green plaid shirt, shown in rustic farmhouse rooms and on a porch; the same look in every thumbnail.

Format

A narrated countdown list: a public-source statistic opens it, then the case that an expensive store-bought fix answers a smaller problem; numbered items run from pricey to free, and it ends with a do-one-this-afternoon challenge.

• Budget store-bought prep lists (Dollar Tree, Sam's Club, canned food)

The same older man in a tan vest and plaid shirt, close to camera and looking at or gesturing toward one prop; a white box or band at the top with 3–5 bold black capital words; a red arrow or X marks the key item; mostly dim, window-lit farmhouse rooms.

Why it works

• Numbered-list titles: 15 of 20 uploads and 3 of the 4 most viewed; the top video (1,155 views) is a 25-trick list
• Cost-contrast hook: 4 of 20 titles name a $3,000–$15,000 appliance against cheap fixes; one of them is the top video (1,155 views)
• Fixed thumbnail system: same man, a 3–5-word capital caption in a white box and a red arrow or X, in all 10 thumbnails viewed
• A persona with a backstory (34 years behind a hardware counter, Minnesota farmhouse) in the about text, restated in the intros of both newest videos
• High output: 20 videos from Sep 16 to Oct 8, median gap 1 day, each about 15–26 min
