The library has no accounts, no advertising and no analytics or tracking scripts from other companies; it counts visits itself, without cookies (below). This page lists everything it does with information about visitors.
Cookies
- al_view remembers the density you picked for the library (comfortable, compact, dense or table) for one year. It holds only that word, stays on this site, and is read by our server to show the same view next time.
- The editor’s sign-in uses a session cookie on the admin pages only. Visitors never get it.
Visit counting
To know how many people read the site, which pages and for how long, our own server counts visits; no analytics company is involved and no cookie is set. While a page is open and visible, your browser tells our server every 15 seconds which page of this site it shows, together with a random number that your browser keeps for that tab only and forgets when you close it. We note the country (looked up from your IP address by our host, Vercel), whether you use a phone, a tablet or a computer, and the name of the website that linked to us (just its domain). When you click a “Get Frontier” button, your browser also tells our server which button it was and on which page, so we can count those clicks. We don't store your IP address or browser details: to count each visitor once per day we keep a one-way hash of them, made with a random key for that day, and to stop abuse we count each day's visits per such hash of your IP address alone (those counts are deleted after two days). Each day's key is deleted the following day; after that nobody, us included, can tell whose visits these were or link your visits on different days. We look at these records only as totals, keep them for 90 days and then delete them. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
Your right to object (GDPR Article 21): you can switch counting off for this browser here, at any time and without giving a reason; it is remembered in this browser only. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we never count your visits.
The “Get Frontier” buttons lead to Frontier's page on Whop, which sells it, through a Whop tracking link, so Whop learns that your visit came from this site (Whop's own privacy policy covers what it does with that). Our admin page asks Whop which sales came from this site and shows only how many, when, which plan and for how much: it keeps nothing about who bought and never links a purchase to your visits here.
AI chat (Ask the library)
The chat on /ask sends your question, and the earlier questions and answers of the same conversation, to Anthropic's Claude API to write the answer. Anthropic processes it as our service provider and does not use it to train its models. The answer is written by an AI from our own research on the channels and can be wrong.
We keep each question for 30 days to see what people ask and to improve the chat, together with which channels the answer linked, how long it took and what it cost; then it is deleted. We do not keep the answers or your IP address. To limit each visitor to a few free questions a day, we count questions per keyed hash of your IP address (the same one-way hash as for the newsletter) and delete those counts after 60 days. The conversation itself stays in your browser tab until you close it. Please don't put personal details in your questions.
Server logs
Like any website, our hosting provider (Vercel) processes the requests your browser makes, including your IP address and browser type, to deliver the pages, keep them secure and limit abuse of the API. We do not combine this with anything else or use it to profile visitors.
YouTube API Services
This site uses YouTube API Services to show public information about YouTube channels and their videos: names, pictures, subscriber, view and video counts, video titles and thumbnails. By using the site you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. The site never asks for access to your YouTube or Google account and stores nothing about you from YouTube; the channel statistics it keeps are refreshed daily and deleted as YouTube’s policies require.
YouTube images
Thumbnails and profile pictures are loaded straight from YouTube’s image servers, so your browser contacts Google when it shows them. Google’s handling of that request is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, and YouTube data is used under the YouTube Terms of Service. The site’s fonts are served by this site itself.
Information about channels
The library describes public YouTube channels and the public pages they link to. It does not try to identify the people behind a channel. Channel owners can ask for a correction or removal at a contact address that will be listed here before the site launches.
Questions
For any privacy question or request, write to a contact address that will be listed here before the site launches.
