Cooking with Barb

Air fryer recipes, hacks and common-mistake fixes

Home cooks who own an air fryer, many of them older (one title addresses seniors living alone), looking for crisper results, cheap easy dinners and appliance know-how; US-style units and dollar prices (inferred from titles, descriptions and the book pitch).

• Realistic avatar
• A photorealistic woman with shoulder-length grey-blond hair, a coral or orange-red top and a warm smile, shown at a granite kitchen counter with an air fryer in front of dark cabinets; most thumbnails show exaggerated expressions (open mouth, hand on cheek).

Air fryer how-to of 17–23 minutes: a '99% don't know' or 'mistakes' hook that teases one tip, a test anecdote and Barb's 19-year appliance-sales backstory, then 5 to 16 numbered tips or dinners with temperatures and times, closing with a comment prompt and her book pitch.

The same woman in an orange-red top beside an open air fryer basket holding the food; half show a shocked face with open mouth or hand on cheek, the rest a smile; some add short labels (AIR FRYER FAIL!, HACKS, JAPANESE TRICK) in red, yellow or white boxes and red arrows.

• One outlier: the KFC-brother video (a family-insider story hook) has 54,313 views, about 9 times the next best (6,132); the other 14 have 24–6,132
• All 15 titles name the air fryer and reuse hooks: “Wish … Sooner” (3), “99% don't know” (2), “Give Me N Minutes” (2), “Mistakes” (2)
• Thumbnails put the same woman beside an air fryer basket in 10 of 10, half with a shocked face, 5 with a short label (FAIL!, HACKS, JAPANESE TRICK)
• Authority hook in both caption excerpts: Barb cites 19 years selling countertop appliances, then gives temperatures, times and costs
• All 15 descriptions open with a store link (14 the same book link), and both caption excerpts close with the same book pitch
