Why it works

• The top video, a hiding-places list, has 89,132 views, about 32% of the channel's 278,926 total
• 25 of the 30 dated titles start with a number, as do 4 of the 5 most viewed videos
• Burglary themes lead the top list: 3 of the 5 most viewed videos concern hiding places, living alone or stranger questions
• 22 of 30 descriptions link to the guide site (two spellings of the address); both transcribed videos close by pitching it with a QR code
• About 30 uploads between Aug 23 and Sep 25, roughly one a day, built a large back catalogue quickly
