Niche

Valuable old collectibles hiding in attics and garages

Audience

People clearing out attics, garages or family homes who wonder whether old objects are worth money (the about text says to look closer before selling, donating or throwing something away), plus casual collectors of toys, books, records and stamps (inferred).

Avatar

• Realistic avatar
• A photorealistic older man with swept white hair and a short white beard, in a cream cable-knit cardigan over a plaid shirt (a dark vest in the two workshop thumbnails), shown from the chest up in a farmhouse kitchen with sage-green cabinets.

Format

One object category per video, 13-18 min: a check-before-you-discard hook, then a countdown of 5-17 items building toward the most valuable, with how to identify each and sample prices, ending on a record-priced piece and a lesson about small details.

Content pillars

• Old toys: LEGO, marbles, childhood toys
• Books, vinyl records, tapes and stamps
• Glass, kitchenware and household items
• Tools and garage finds
• Selling rules and future collectibles

Why it works

• 10 of 12 titles promise 'a fortune', 'thousands' or 'millions'; the one pre-Sep 28 upload without it has 26 views, the other 8 have 186 to 811
• Thumbnail template: the same man in all 10, mostly wide-eyed or smiling, a yellow arrow to the object in 9, a dollar figure in 8 ($2,400 to $10,000,000)
• Fixed series shape: 7 of 12 titles are numbered lists of 15 or 17 items, one object category per video, with a check-your-own-house hook
• Templated, steady output: 12 uploads between Sep 10 and Oct 6 (about 3 a week); 10 of 12 descriptions share one fixed intro and emoji list
• A recognizable, repeated character: the same white-bearded man and farmhouse kitchen in the avatar, banner and 8 of 10 thumbnails
